CILICIA. Hierapolis-Castabala. Marcus Aurelius, 161-180. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 27 mm, 14.22 g, 7 h). ΑYΤ Κ Μ ΑY ΑΝΤωΝЄΙΝΟС Marcus Aurelius seated left on sella curulis, holding globe in his right and being crowned by Nike flying to left behind him. Rev. ΙЄΡΟΠΟΛΙΤωΝ ΚΑСΤΑΒΑΛ[ЄωΝ] Draped bust of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and carrying thyrsos over his left shoulder; in field to right, bunch of grapes. RPC IV online 6181. SNG von Aulock 5577 corr. (misattributed to Caracalla). Minor smoothing and some areas of weakness on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
